Job Title: Corporate Tax Partner
Location: Hybrid Working (London EC4M/Remote)
Days/Hours worked: Monday-Friday, 35-hour week (Flexitime)
Job Summary:
The Corporate Tax Partner will be responsible for leading the corporate tax advisory function, managing key client relationships, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, a focus on team development, and the ability to foster collaborative internal relationships across departments. The successful candidate will drive business development, lead complex corporate tax engagements, and guide the team to deliver outstanding results.
Day to Day Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Leadership & Strategy:
* Lead the development and growth of the Corporate tax compliance function across both offices, transitioning from a support role for audit clients to a comprehensive, standalone service.
* Drive the strategic vision for the Corporate tax function, ensuring alignment with the group’s overall objectives.
Process Development & Implementation:
* Finalise and implement robust processes and procedures for the Corporate tax team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in all deliverables.
* Shape the client-facing deliverables and ensure the highest standards of service quality.
Client Engagement & Advisory:
* Engage with clients directly, attending meetings to discuss tax planning opportunities, tax risk management, and compliance matters.
* Provide expert advice and build strong, long-term relationships with key clients.
Team Coordination & Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Assurance Team to integrate and embed new Corporate tax processes across the group. Ensure seamless coordination between departments, particularly in areas where tax and audit overlap.
Training & Development:
* Lead the training and development of the Corporate tax compliance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Offer cross-departmental training to enhance the overall tax knowledge within the group and improve collaboration.
Market Expansion & Business Development:
* Position the group as a viable alternative to competitor firms for Corporate tax services, particularly in situations where those firms are conflicted due to audit reasons.
* Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy to attract new clients and grow the group’s market share in Corporate tax services.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required:
Proven Leadership:
* Demonstrated experience in leading a Corporate tax function, with a strong track record of successfully managing teams and developing tax processes.
Technical Expertise:
* Deep understanding of UK Corporate tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Expertise in identifying tax planning opportunities and managing tax risks for a diverse client base.
Strategic Thinking:
* Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for the Corporate tax function, aligning it with the group’s broader business objectives.
Client-Focused:
* Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to understand client needs, provide tailored advice, and deliver high-quality tax services.
Project Management:
* Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of tax compliance services.
Communication:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate tax issues to clients and internal teams. Comfortable in leading client meetings and presentations.
Collaboration:
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly with the Assurance Team, to ensure integrated and efficient service delivery.
Leadership & Mentorship:
* A strong leader who can inspire and mentor the tax compliance team, helping them to grow and succeed in their roles.
Entrepreneurial Mindset:
* A proactive, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and drive the growth of the Corporate tax function.
Market Awareness:
* In-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, with the ability to position the group as a credible alternative for Corporate tax services.

* Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing client needs and regulatory requirements.
