Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a large upstream oil and gas operator to source a Group Reporting Analyst in their Aberdeen City Centre office. This role is responsible for all consolidated financial management reporting and external financial reporting for the company. The role supports the Group Accounting Advisor in preparation of group reporting requirements, reforecasts and month end close. Candidates with financial reporting experience are encouraged to apply. The Opportunity Prepare and review annual legal entity financial statements, including consolidated financial statements prepared under IFRS Collaborate with the tax team, supply accurate information as required for tax provisioning, tax returns and for tax planning purposes Prepare monthly income statement and balance sheet over the month end close period, with aim to ensure required elements are booked as required and understood Collate variance analysis on key metrics of production, opex, capex, abex, revenue, free cash flow and working capital on a monthly basis for management reporting Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting package for group financial reporting and supporting analysis through the tools and schedules provided by the shareholder Liaise with external auditors throughout the group and statutory audits Prepare the monthly revenue accounting in coordination with the Marketing and Production teams, including sales, revenue accruals and overlift and underlift Prepare and maintain fixed assets register including, additions, depreciation, impairment postings Support monthly closing of intercompany balances Review and post corporate provisions (legal, environmental, obsolescense and others) Create journals at month end as required Assist with any other ad hoc month-end/year-end adjustments Support in preparing financial information for Board meetings Background and Experience Experience in financial reporting and accounting roles, with an understanding of statutory reporting requirements and consolidation processes Proficiency in accounting software, preferably S/4 Hana, and advanced Excel skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Next Steps If you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you To apply please send a full CV.
