Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
We recognise that the AMU is an exciting but intensive arena to work in, and so we invite you to design your job plan with us, to create a role that is sustainable and enables you to deliver your best.
You might split your time in the AMU with work in another speciality, taking part in research, teaching or developing your management competencies.
Whichever you choose, you'll be supported by a Trust that truly values its staff and prides itself on patient care, learning and rapid career progression.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
We are looking for consultant colleagues to join our team in acute medicine in North Devon, joining a team of forward-thinking doctors in a dynamic trust, able to effect changes in our service and make a real difference to the welfare of our patients. NDDH has an Acute Medicine Unit (AMU) of 28 beds and a newly developed Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area. SDEC is our way of innovating care, where we offer rapid access to diagnostics and procedures. Suitable patients are diagnosed and managed by experienced middle grade doctors and fully supported by a team of Advanced Care Practitioners. Building on our successes, we now wish to expand this service and increase our percentage of patients through same day care.
The Trust has an electronic patient record (EPIC), a multi-million-pound research facility, a significant development budget and big plans for the future.
