Hourly Rate: £13.36 - £14.04 Salary: £25,769.25 - £27,081.16 pro rata per annum Contract Duration: Permanent Hours: 30 Hours This is a 38 week post, working hours will be during school term only, the salary will be pro-rated accordingly. Please note the salary advertised is full time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Role Purpose Within this post we are looking for someone to provide cover for sickness/absences in various units and manage the day to day operation of the Unit, Responsible for the ordering, storage, preparation, cooking and serving of all foods plus cleaning materials for the Unit, responsible for working to a given menu and within the appropriate costs set. Work within targets/guidelines as agreed with the Area Catering Manager (food and labour costs).Responsible for welfare and work practices of all staff within any unit you are covering. Induction and basic training of staff. Responsible for the day to day administration. Responsible for the training and implementation of kitchen hygiene and cleaning schedules. Responsible for portion control as per client specification. Responsible for cash floats and banking daily. To undertake catering function work, occasionally out with the normal working day. Any other duties as specified by the Area Catering Manager. A vehicle will be provided to travel between sites and this will be parked at the nearest school within the Scottish Borders to where the successful candidate lives. Essential City and Guilds 706/2 or SVQ II Food Preparation & Cooking Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate A current driving licence, however please note this post comes with access to a vehicle for carrying out the role.
