Due to a continued and planned expansion our client is looking for an additional EXPERIENCED Vehicle Movement Logistics Planner to join the team. This is a full-time Monday-Friday employed office-based position.
The primary focus for the planner is to allocate vehicle movement jobs for the trade plate drivers, ensuring that the driver’s time on the road collecting and delivering customer vehicles is maximised. Equally, planning to minimise the time and expense the drivers spend on public transport in between vehicle movements.
As a Logistics Planner, you will be driven, organised, disciplined and hard-working. You will have a strong geographical knowledge of mainland UK which will assist you in your planning schedule and responsibilities. Working well with your colleagues as a key team member is paramount, as well as having a good understanding of the company’s operational procedures to achieve your KPIs along with achieving the SLAs for the customers and their movement demands.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for day-to-day planning for the team of drivers
2. Building a good relationship with drivers to achieve vehicle movement expectations
3. Knowledge of customer requirements and allocate according to drivers’ skills and abilities
4. Daily office support with drivers to deal with movement schedules
5. Assisting with any driver issues to achieve prompt resolution
6. Working with planning, allocation and coordinator team members
7. Working with other departments to ensure customer SLAs are met
8. Any other duties required to assist with business operations
Required Criteria:
1. Strong knowledge and understanding of UK road network and its geography
2. Good knowledge of Public Transport system across the country
3. At least 12 month’s experience of vehicle movements (trade plate driving) planning & allocations
4. Ability to communicate with all team members with excellent telephone manner
5. Good interpersonal skills
6. Disciplined and organised
7. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
8. Reliable and dedicated to yours and colleagues’ responsibilities
9. IT literate and ability to learn and implement company procedures
Nice to have:
1. Previous experience of being a vehicle movement driver would be a distinct advantage to being successful in this role but not essential.
This role will commence w/c 6th January 2025.
