This position will be based in our Dublin or London offices with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.
Job Detail:
This position reports to the Head of Underwriting Governance. The team provides support to the Chief Underwriting Office and Executive Management team with responsibility for oversight and governance of its local and international underwriting activities across Europe, LatAm, and Asia Pac.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide support to the Active Underwriter and Syndicate Manager of Everest 2786 for oversight and governance of the Lloyd’s platform underwriting activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Monitor and maintain currency of underwriting authorities and guidelines.
2. Alert the team to any breaches of authority.
3. Prepare reports and analysis for the Underwriting and Risk Committees.
4. Monitor and report on results of Self Audits and Lloyd’s Peer Review process results across all lines of business.
5. Ensure that all findings are followed up and resolved.
6. Liaise with multiple stakeholders including underwriting, compliance, risk, finance and executive functions.
7. Support the extraction, interpretation and provision of management information from the Company’s Core software packages.
8. Maintain validity of Policies governing the Company’s approach to insurance and reinsurance.
9. Support the Syndicate Manager in preparation of all planning and reporting documents.
10. Support internal and external audit processing.
11. Support referral processes where required.
12. Aiding adherence to the 13 principles of Doing Business at Lloyd’s.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
1. From an underwriting and/or compliance background within insurance.
2. Broad experience across multiple lines of business with a sound understanding of both Open Market business and Delegated Underwriting.
3. Good understanding of underwriting in the Lloyd’s marketplace.
4. Solid knowledge of Lloyd’s operating model.
5. Experience in regulatory oversight and governance is an advantage.
6. Understands Management Information and key performance metrics. Can construct and interpret data.
7. Experience with conduct exposed products is an advantage.
8. Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholders, in particular brokers and Coverholders.
9. Ability to adapt and embrace change.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates respect for the opinions of others.
11. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
