Length of assignment: 12 weeks Hours per week- 37 hours Location- The guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury,SY38HQ Remote/Office based: Home working mostly, includes school visits This role requires someone with experience and qualifications in education, specifically in supporting vulnerable learners and overcoming challenges related to education and inclusion. The Inclusion Support Officer will be part of a professional team, helping to improve educational outcomes for students facing barriers. Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of the role and requirements: Role Focus: Support Vulnerable Learners: The primary responsibility is to help improve the educational outcomes of vulnerable students under the guidance of the Head of Virtual School and Access to Education. Problem Solving: The post holder will be expected to identify issues and challenges faced by vulnerable learners, attend relevant meetings, offer advice, and adopt solution-focused approaches to overcome barriers. Reporting & Development: The officer will record and report on the progress of students, contributing to national and local strategies for improving outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Identifying Issues: Using your skills to spot problems that impact the students' education, achievement, and progress. Team Collaboration: Working under supervision and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create solutions. Providing Advice: Offering expert guidance to staff and relevant stakeholders to ensure students receive the support they need. Progress Tracking: Monitoring and documenting the progress of initiatives designed to improve educational outcomes. Qualifications & Experience Required: Education Requirements: 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent), including English and Maths. A professional qualification in education (e.g., HLTA or degree level qualification). Experience: At least two years of recent experience in an educational setting. Experience supporting learners to overcome challenges in access to education and inclusion. Familiarity with working in a multi-agency environment (collaborating with external organizations and services). Report writing experience: Ability to document and report on student progress and interventions. Strong administrative, data management, and IT skills.
