We are looking for:
A Mechanical Facilities Engineer
to perform a wide range of activities associated with the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment, systems and facilities at Pharmaron Cardiff, UK. Delivering a high quality, efficient service for internal customers which includes supervision and oversight of external vendors or contractors. This role will require the Engineer to be fully conversant with mechanical maintenance techniques, installation, and fault finding. Ideally, the engineer will also have an understanding of building management and process control systems.
Key roles and responsibilities:
1. Use Maximo to schedule, complete and record the completion of scheduled maintenance, installations and repairs.
2. Use the BMS system to ensure that the services and monitored equipment within the building are functioning correctly and optimized for efficiency.
3. Manage routine and planned maintenance and testing of the infrastructure of assets, emergency systems and equipment on the site, with a particular focus on electrical systems.
4. Use the work permit system to ensure safe systems of work are followed.
5. Ensure maintenance and repairs on the site facilities are efficiently and effectively performed.
6. Ensure that all maintenance and service contract services are compliant with all regulations, company policies and ISO9001:2015 and are documented as such.
7. Support all aspects of the building management controls and data.
8. Lead mechanical and engineering projects and provide advice and guidance to colleagues on matters of a mechanical, engineering and general construction nature.
9. Ensure a sufficient stock of materials, equipment and parts are maintained to carry out requisite work.
10. Ensure all work is properly planned, documented and entered correctly, and in a timely fashion into the appropriate system and that accurate reports are generated.
11. Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and be proactive in addressing potential issues of hazard and risk and reporting such issues to management for prompt action.
12. Liaise with all people that might be impacted by the work, affording them the opportunity where possible, to minimize disruptions.
13. Comply with the requirements of the site ISO Standards.
14. Model the Pharmaron behaviours applicable to this role.
Requirements:
1. Facilities related NVQ2/3 or equivalent training programme.
2. Full UK driving license.
3. Proven track record of successful performance in the role of Maintenance Technician or similar role.
4. Working with a large range of contractors and customers.
5. Operational and maintenance knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical plant.
6. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving skills.
7. Decision making.
8. Planning and Project Management.
9. Good stakeholder and relationship management.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills.
11. Time management.
12. Multitasking and prioritization of workload.
13. IT skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office.
