Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Contract: 6 Month contract Location: Based in Scotland, Leven (Fife) Purpose of the role The Mechanical person will report to the Project Engineering team, and work very closely with the Site Engineering Maintenance team (Compliance) for Leven Packaging. The aim is to ensure safe isolation of plant, associated schedules are compiled and then physically executed in a timely manner within an operational window, using current legislation and Diageo Global Technical standards. This would ensure compliance in the following areas: Lock Out Tag Out procedures (LOTO) Risk Assessments and Work Instructions (EQMS) Process safety and Isolation protocol Key Accountabilities To provide safe isolation solutions to comply with legislation and ensure that site can demonstrate effective and safe LOTO procedures. Excellent understanding of engineering LOTO strategies for safety system maintenance. Ensure P&ID’s are checked against physical routes, updated and red-lined where necessary, and liaise with CAD team to update. Ensure all mechanical site P&ID’s and associated documents are up to date and readily accessible/available. Develop isolation schedules and documentation. Support LOTO install during commissioning of I/O testing, coordinating with both electrical, mechanical & C&I teams. (some out of hours work anticipated during IO commissioning only in April/May 2024) Prepare weekly progress reports and updates to key stakeholders and Project leads. At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards. At all times work to all applicable legislative procedures. Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices. Entry level requirements – skills and experience Qualifications Time served Mechanical engineer preferably with HNC. IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Essential Experience: Computer literate (e.g. Microsoft office) At least 5 years’ experience working as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and P&ID’s. Must be able to confirm P&ID accuracy in the field. Desirable Experience: Mechanical legislation and standards Machinery and Functional safety systems ME, packaging, lean methodologies, process control, RCM Electrical instrumentation knowledge Excellence in Supply Chain Has a proven track record in adherence to Core Process and Standards Demonstrates role model behaviour and coach others to follow a consistent approach and go beyond mandatory minimum requirements.
