This will necessitate flexibility in working hours and participation in local "on-call" rotas. To be able to lead service developments in area(s) assigned to role, i.e. workshop (electronic and mechanical), linac maintenance, ISO documentation depending on the candidate experience and expertise. To take responsibility in the absence of the Chief Engineer in all matters relating to the areas they are leading. To participate in preventative maintenance, servicing, complex fault investigation and repair of highly complex therapy and diagnostic radiation equipment at the UHNM radiotherapy department alongside the Varian Medical Systems managed equipment service (MES) contract. To carry out routine scheduled quality assurance on radiotherapy equipment Supervise staff within the RPTS demonstrating the initiative, responsibility and autonomy required of a Lead Radiotherapy Engineer.
