An exciting opportunity has a risen for a Band 6 Macmillan Personalised cancer care (PCC) nurse at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust. The position is currently full time, Monday to Friday and is an integral part of the PCC Team. BHRUT is a large teaching Trust located in North East London. Our Vision is to provide outstanding healthcare to our community, delivered with pride. The PCC team provide PCC for patients living with a cancer diagnosis from diagnosis and all through the patient's pathway. The team have been recognised Nationally for their innovation. You will be responsible for delivering PCC interventions to Oncology patients within the Oncology department. This will include undertaking electronic Holistic needs assessments, delivering health and wellbeing workshops and developing and completing treatment summaries. You will also provide line management for two Macmillan PCC support workers. Cancer services are mainly located on the Queen's Hospital site in Romford. Romford has excellent road links as well as an easy rail commute into London.
Main duties of the job
The Macmillan Personalised cancer care nurse will deliver a range of personalised care interventions for cancer patients at point of entry to the Living with and Beyond Cancer service. This will include implementation of Macmillan electronic Holistic Needs Assessments, sign posting and support to services as needed. Delivery of health and wellbeing information (working closely with the Macmillan Cancer health and wellbeing manager) and support and formulation of comprehensive treatment summaries to share with both patient and primary care.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
