YOUR ROLE
Our Ground & Rail team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager where you will provide project optimization and development for transport operations across our Northwest Europe region where you will focus on new business wins, renewals, or existing operations. You will collaborate with wider Transition and Transformation teams sharing best practices to enable effective project management, solution delivery, and the implementation of transportation efficiencies within the Ground & Rail structure.
This role will be based in the UK, mainly from Ashby de la Zouch and from home, this role will require a flexible approach to working location as you support projects across the Northwest Europe region.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Programme and Project Expert, you will manage, maintain, and lead new business implementations, renewals, and existing operational projects where you will prepare project plans, risk logs, documentation, and manage all project resources ensuring project delivery within the agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring all workstream leads take accountability for project tasks and agreed milestones. Liaising with internal teams you will gain an awareness of pipelined project statuses to manage your time effectively and engage with wider internal stakeholder groups to define project scope and scale to enable success.
You will manage a variety of projects where you will provide accurate and high-quality project status updates through effective communication strategies and interact regularly with internal and external groups building strong working relationships, presenting project milestones, statuses, risks, and risk mitigations and lessons learnt.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application, you will have demonstrable experience in leading new business implementations and transformation projects, preferably within an operational environment. You will be able to manage project scope and assess requirement changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time, and risk. You will manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks, identify and track requirements and issues resolving where possible and escalating when needed. You will be experienced in creating and maintaining project plans and project reports throughout the project life cycle and able to produce, manage, and plan project budgets.
It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator with excellent engagement and influencing skills with the ability to form strong client relationships, be an efficient and effective problem solver, and can demonstrate excellent presentational skills.
It would be desirable if you have a good level of transport operational knowledge and ideally work within a 3PL environment; however, this is not essential.
