Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Registered Nurse to lead at a Senior Level within the Birmingham and Solihull (BSOL) ICB All Age Continuing Care Team. Essential to the post is the ability to provide expert and skilled clinical advice and support to individuals and teams. Experience of managing teams, complex situations, dispute resolution processes, implementing efficiencies for continuous quality improvement, awareness of financial resources, and experience in adult safeguarding investigations are key. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, and we are looking for an individual who has sound leadership skills and the ability to work within complex areas of work. An individual who is committed, has a progressive outlook, and demonstrates a desire to deliver a positive patient experience while always looking for ways to improve our service. You will play a crucial role in our mission to improve health and care services for the BSOL community, tasked with providing clinical leadership and management of the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) team and ensuring that professional nursing standards are maintained, including mentoring, clinical supervision, and clinical re-validation.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a large clinical team, managing your own caseload and collaborating with other key professionals. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the legislative frameworks, policies, and procedures in respect of the CHC framework 2022, and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the BSOL CHC, PHB, and ABI teams. There are opportunities to build cross-agency relationships while working closely with colleagues from social care and other NHS statutory services. The postholder will ensure that all patients within the caseload receive good quality care that meets their ongoing needs through timely assessments and reviews. This includes responsibility for establishing and coordinating arrangements across a range of agencies, including NHS providers and third sector providers. To be responsible for ensuring that all CHC processes implemented are compliant with legislative and national guidance, and to manage contentious situations in relation to disputes between partner agencies or with individual patients and relatives. To work in partnership with the Local Authority, Acute Trusts, and Care Homes to ensure timely discharges and good quality, value-for-money placements for those eligible for CHC. To ensure effective management of all budgets within areas of responsibility and provide regular updates in relation to spend against the service and CHC budgets.
