Production Scheduler The Production Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling of manufacturing work consisting mainly of capacity and resource planning. They will also be responsible for driving the progress of ‘live’ Manufacturing Orders through Operations, liaising closely with the other Operations Team Leaders and Managers. Location : Wimborne, UK Your Challenge: Produce and maintain schedules for the production teams Ensure the delivery of high-quality product on time in line with Customer requirements – internal and external Provide real-time information to both the Operations/Project Managers and Leads regarding the schedule, highlighting any potential risks to the output schedule and pro-actively recommending any work-around opportunities To assist in key, make/buy decisions with the Planning, Procurement and Production teams to maximise NCS value and profitability To ensure the efficient operation of the department through innovation and reduction of waste Providing weekly reports to the Production Manager on production performance vs delivery forecasts Any other duties (considered reasonable) as and when required by the business What You Bring: Applicants must meet eligibility requirements through completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) application. Security contractual compliance will require incumbents must be a British National. Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills are essential with the ability to juggle tasks. Good general standard of education is required including GCSE or equivalent in Science, Maths and English. Previous experience in production scheduling is essential, experience with manual scheduling advantageous. Experience of a manufacturing environment (nuclear, defence or aerospace desirable). Must be methodical and organised and approach all tasks in a systematic, process-orientated manner at a high level of detail. Highly motivated to succeed, with the ability to manage / influence others, as required, in order to positively influence their performance and achieve targets. Strong computer user, proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio are necessary). Experience working with BoMs and manufacturing routings within an ERP/MRP system. Adaptable to changing priorities at short notice in order to meet the requirements of the Business. May be necessary to work extended hours from time to time.
