Aim of the role:
A Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying and qualifying potential public Sector customers who would benefit from our client's solutions. They will act as the first point of contact, engaging prospects through cold calls, emails, and social media to generate interest and set appointments for the sales team. The SDR research’s leads, understand customer pain points, and tailor their outreach to create value-driven conversations. They focus on nurturing relationships, handling objections, and maintaining accurate records in CRM systems. By bridging marketing and sales efforts, this SDR will play a vital role in building a strong pipeline and driving Public Sector growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prospect Generation: Research and identify key stakeholders within UK public sector organisations, including central government, NHS, education.
* Lead Qualification: Engage potential clients through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels to qualify leads and generate interest in our solutions.
* Appointment Setting: Schedule high-quality meetings for the sales team by understanding client needs and presenting relevant solutions.
* Market Insight: Stay updated on public sector trends, procurement cycles, and regulatory changes to tailor outreach strategies effectively.
* CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, client interactions, and lead progress in ZOHO/Hubspot.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and share feedback on market insights.
* KPI Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed targets for lead generation, qualification, and appointment setting.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a sales development, business development, or similar role, ideally targeting the public sector.
* Understanding of the UK public sector landscape and aware of key topics and issues.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, whilst being comfortable to engage senior-level stakeholders.
* Proactive and self-motivated approach with a results-driven mindset.
* Proficiency in CRM’s (ZOHO, Hubspot).
* Ability to quickly learn and articulate the value propositions of our client as they evolve.
* Experience in telecoms is also good but not essential.
Salary:
£30,000 - £35,000 Base + Bonus (Total OTE £50,000 - £55,000)
Location:
Farringdon, London (3 days per week)
