In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of the Management Accountant role is to provide finance and business partnering support for the Engineering business area.
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. For the Engineering business area provide month end accounting (inc posting month end journals) and reporting of financial performance based on IFRS15 Revenue from Contracts principles, providing analysis, understanding on variances and advice on
corrective actions that could drive improvements.
2. Overall IFRS15 reporting compliance for the business.
3. Coordination and calculation of the annual RDEC self-assessment claim.
4. Coordination and calculation of the Patent Box tax claim.
5. Lead for financial submission of all Engineering/Technology grant applications.
6. Finance approver for purchase requisitions.
7. Facilitate and ensure robust inputs from business areas for forecasts, budgets and the MTP (Mid Term Plan).
8. Working closely with the Finance Manager – Programmes & Engineering, the Management Accountant – Programmes and Purchasing, and the Programme Managersand Directors, to provide financial support for robust EAC reviews identifying if corrective
action is required.
9. Provide monthly analysis and forecasts of cost saving initiatives for the Engineering business area, including validation of claimed savings.
10. Monthly review & analysis of RTDI.
11. Promote increased financial understanding and awareness in business areas, working with the Finance team and business to develop informative and value add KPI reporting.
12. Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and maintained and act as the conscience of the business ensuring that general controls and processes are adhered to in business areas in line with best practice.
