Job summary The St James's University Hospital (SJUH) Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Research Team is recruiting The Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialities and the Early Phase research unit is looking for a Research Nurse/Midwife/Allied Health Professional (AHP)/ Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP). It is a full time position (1.0 WTE), with a temporary contract of 12 months to assist with maternity leave cover. This post will be based at SJUH CRF, Level 3 Bexley Wing. The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Early Phase Research Portfolio, in particular the day to day management of the CRF. The main tasks are: nurse in charge duties, staff management and liaising with the wider research teams to support treatment delivery in Early Phase trials. In addition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction are to a very high standards, compliance with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, local and national guidance and legislation is required. Main duties of the job We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research to work within the SJUH CRF team. The post-holder will assist in coordinating the unit as the nurse in charge (staff mix, chasing treatments with pharmacy/aseptics, staff cover, managing the diary, supporting colleagues), assist with audits and liaise with the wider research teams to ensure safe treatment to our patients. Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT) competency desirable. The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
