We are looking to recruit a Logistics Coordinator who will play a vital role in managing and overseeing the movement of goods, materials, or services from one place to another.
Key Accountabilities
* Scheduling Deliveries and Shipments: Planning and tracking the movement of goods, ensuring deliveries are made on time.
* Despatching Goods: Liaising with storage facilities ensuring stock is despatched for Chain Accounts and despatching all orders on our system.
* Coordinating with Suppliers and Vendors: Communicating with third-party service providers such as carrier companies, couriers, or freight forwarders.
* Scheduling Collections: Planning and booking couriers to collect damaged goods to be returned to our warehouse, liaising with our sales desk and accounts department to ensure credit notes are raised.
* Managing Inventory: Keeping track of stock levels and ensuring that inventory is appropriately maintained, stored, and shipped.
* Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring that shipping and transport procedures meet all relevant laws and regulations (customs, safety, and environmental standards).
* Problem-Solving: Handling any logistics-related problems, such as delays, shipment damage, or customs issues, and finding quick solutions.
* Tracking and Reporting: Maintaining records of shipments, delivery schedules, and inventory. Providing regular updates to management and clients.
* Optimizing Routes and Costs: Analysing data to improve efficiency, minimize costs, and reduce delivery times.
* Company Policies: Ensuring that company policies and procedures are always followed.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines, including OSHA regulations and any local safety standards, report any safety hazards, accidents, or near-misses to supervisors promptly.
Knowledge and Skills
* Prior experience of working as a Warehouse Operative or stores / distribution function
* Organisational and time management skills and the ability to assess and manage priorities
* Communication and interpersonal skills for leading and motivating staff and building relationships with internal stakeholders
* Good numeracy skills
* Excellent understanding of Warehouse processes
* Understanding of Health and Safety and security procedures
* Reasonable knowledge of Microsoft software, particularly Word and Excel
