Main duties of the job
To provide Primary and Occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards, in order to optimise patient care and to achieve the objectives of the organisation and Senior Medical Officer.
While the Post Holder may not have direct Line Manager Responsibilities, they will participate in the mentoring of junior personnel, helping to ensure that their training needs, as defined in the Practice Development Plan, are met and that any shortfalls are identified and addressed.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Provide general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours 0800 to 1630hrs.
* Maximise the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the Single Services (SS) are met.
* Undertake medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
* Training in military Occupational Healthcare will be provided as part of the job.
* Provide appropriate preventative medical advice to both individuals and Chain of Command.
* Assist with advice on the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
* Provide primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment.
* Have a working knowledge of and be actively involved in clinical governance.
* Participate in audit, in accordance with both personal and practice development plans.
* Work in collaboration with all members of the primary healthcare team and line management.

Person Specification
Experience
* To be proficient in relevant Information Technology (IT) systems.
Registrations and Memberships
* General Medical Council (GMC) registered with a licence to practise. On the GP register.
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
Qualifications
* Registration with the United Kingdom (UK) General Medical Council (GMC), and on the General Practice Register.
* Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
* Hold a current Licence to practice.
Salary
£85,451 to £104,560 a year Per Annum. Pro Rata for Part Time.
