Assistant Accountant - West Yorkshire Area
Our well-respected client, an extremely successful independently owned franchised main car dealership, is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant.
Salary: Basic - £27,500
Hours: Monday - Friday - 8.00am to 4.00pm (30-minute lunch break). Can be flexible on working hours.
This position would be well suited to an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in their career. Motor trade experience is desirable but not essential, so if you're an experienced Accounts Assistant from another sector, we would love to hear from you.
The Job:
The Assistant Accountant will be a key member of the accounting function, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. They will be an integral part of the accounts department:
1. Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Complete weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all balances are known and correct.
3. Reconciliation of Sales DOC daily.
4. Update daily estimates vs actuals.
5. Bonus debt reconciliation and chasing up any outstanding bonus and putting query form in if required.
6. Posting and allocating bonus debts.
7. Process EMAC statements.
8. Reconcile eBay, Shopify, and Amazon accounts.
9. Optimise the systems we have in place, ensuring they are used efficiently.
10. Supervise the Purchase ledger and ensure all invoices are processed in a timely manner.
11. Supervise the sales ledger and ensure all debts are collected.
12. Communicate effectively with department managers and assist them with any financial matters required.
13. Daily cashflow forecasts.
14. Cover weekly forecasts in the absence of the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
1. Retail motor trade experience desirable.
2. SME experience desirable.
3. Kerridge experience desirable.

Qualifications:
AAT part qualified (Final Level) or qualified.
