Location: We are looking for an Apprentice covering Harrogate and the Dales area.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to join the Water Service Delivery team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Water Service Delivery are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Our Water Service Delivery team work to make sure that the quality of our water is up to standard and that our customers get an uninterrupted supply of drinking water. Our Engineering team within Water Service Delivery work to ensure that assets are maintained, serviced, repaired during break downs and meet regulatory and industry standards.
Where you fit in:
As our Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, you will work to develop competence in Mechanical Fitting. This includes:
* Attending scheduled maintenance activities to identify and fix potential problems before they become catastrophic.
* Carrying out regular checks for damage or wear, and to ensure that equipment is working properly.
* Cleaning and lubricating assets to ensure they are fit for purpose and working within guidelines.
* Attending breakdowns, identifying the cause of a problem using diagnostic tools as well as fixing broken parts or replacing defective components.
* Ensuring mechanical parts are in a safe working condition, including communicating any issues to other Technical Experts.
* Utilising I.T. equipment to provide updates on job roles.
* Following health and safety practices and attending relevant training.
What you will study:
Our Apprentices enroll on a level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship which is equivalent to 3 A-levels and where the opportunity is available apprentices can progress onto a HNC qualification. Our apprentices study the Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician.
* To hold or be predicted 5 GCSEs or equivalent grade 4 and above/A-C including English, Mathematics and a Science subject.
* An interest in Engineering and Science through a hobby.
* A full UK driving licence.
* A willingness to learn new skills and a strong work ethic.
* The ability to work outdoors in all weathers and within confined spaces.
* The willingness to travel across Yorkshire.
