About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Engineering Stores Lead and Continuous Improvement Collaborator to join our clients team in Newport. Reporting directly to the Engineering and Site Manager, you will play a key role in implementing and coordinating best practices in inventory management and continuous improvement processes. This exciting opportunity will allow you to take ownership of the engineering stores area as the company invests in new machinery, a new CMMS system, and the rollout of 5S standards across the department. If you are passionate about delivering cost-effective solutions and driving efficiency, wed love to hear from you Key Responsibilities: Manage spare parts and refurbishment processes, ensuring COSHH compliance. Track and report stores performance through the CMMS system, including stock accuracy and turnover. Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock audits. Optimize engineering spare parts inventory, aligning with criticality analysis and inventory management standards. Improve parts descriptions and manage engineering materials within the CMMS system. Monitor and improve minimum and maximum stock levels. Act as the key system user for materials, group codes, and supplier management. Deliver cost-effective and efficient spare parts and inventory solutions. Ensure accuracy in purchase requests and manage the purchase order process within company finance software (Access). Own and maintain 5S standards for the engineering stores. Implement visual management processes and standards. Manage supplier delivery performance and develop inventory management improvement techniques. Drive health and safety practices within the department. Support the development of planned maintenance schedules and liaise with engineering projects to ensure availability of required parts. Identify and manage obsolete stock. Use lean methodologies (e.g., TIMWOODS) to reduce waste. What Were Looking For: Experience in inventory and stores management. Strong understanding of CMMS systems and their implementation. Familiarity with 5S standards and continuous improvement processes. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
