Summit Learning Trust Mission Statement
Success through Endeavour
Ambition through Challenge
Strength through Diversity
Ninestiles, an Academy is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team as Level 3 Teaching Assistant. Working under the instruction of SLT, you will collaborate with teaching colleagues to support the delivery of quality learning, teaching, and assessment to help raise standards of achievement for all learners.
To be considered for this post you must hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (minimum entry requirement) and ideally have experience in working with learners, preferably those with additional needs. You must be an individual who has the skills and passion to positively impact our learners. You must also possess the commitment, enthusiasm, and energy to inspire them every day. You must show your ability to interact well with learners and teachers alike in a culture built on the values of mutual trust and respect.
Our TA roles are different from other settings: we require our TAs to have the academic ability to support our Year 11 to gain strong GCSEs and make complex texts accessible to Year 7s – some of whom are working at KS1 levels; we expect true partnerships with parents and the confidence to facilitate these independently; you need to be able to work at pace in a fast-paced environment producing consistently high-quality work. Your pastoral work will be excellent and you will be confident being the first point of contact for parents in need of support. Optimism and consistency will be your core performance virtues. You will be both IT literate and IT confident. You will be assured in challenging colleagues to undertake their best endeavours for all learners, recognising excellence and challenging when standards of excellence are yet to be met.
At interview, we will explore your ability to develop rapport with learners, and we will explore your personal engagement with reading, especially at a level reflective of the needs of GCSE study.
It would be advantageous if candidates could demonstrate the following:
* Experience of supporting learners with speech, language and communication needs including autism.
* Experience of working with learners with cognition and learning needs, thereby able to collaborate with teachers to differentiate/scaffold learning tasks and activities for learners working significantly below age-related expectations.
* Must be prepared to train for, or be experienced in delivering, intimate care plans.
* An understanding of learners' sensory differences.
* Experience of helping learners to understand and regulate their emotional responses and develop a greater sense of self-awareness, independence, and resilience.
* Working knowledge of a range of interventions and approaches to enhance literacy and numeracy development.
* Partnership with parents.
* Facilitating EHCP annual reviews.
Experience of supporting KS2-3 transition would be highly advantageous.
About our Academy
The recent Ofsted report following an inspection in November 2024 concluded that Ninestiles, an Academy has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection and when we were confirmed to be ‘Good’. Some highlights from the report confirm that our learners do well socially and academically and respect others’ differences. Our pastoral care and the support given to learners is highly effective and all staff have high expectations of what our learners can achieve. The focus of the Academy is to work with our learners to secure good qualifications as well as preparing them to be good active citizens. Our Leadership team have thought carefully about the subjects our learners study and are offered a wide range of subjects at Key Stage 3. This prepares them well for the choices they make at Key Stage 4. A full range of subjects are offered at Key Stage 4, matched to pupils’ interests and ability. A strength of the school is the number of trips and activities offered to pupils. There are more than 70 clubs, including sport, music, art, drama, and debating.
