Higher Biomedical Support Worker with Out of Hours
As a higher laboratory support worker in blood sciences, the post holder will work under the supervision of qualified scientists for the delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose, 24/7 medical laboratory service analyzing and reporting on blood, urine, feces, and other body materials to achieve the objectives of efficient and effective patient care and resource management within the hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
The Blood Sciences Department in Wrexham Maelor Hospital is looking to appoint a band 3 Higher Healthcare Science Assistant. This key role complements the expertise of experienced scientists and science assistants and is part of a fast-paced laboratory diagnostics service. The successful candidate will need a basic knowledge of laboratory services and demonstrate a capacity to learn and develop, with a drive to deliver an excellent service for the benefit of the community we serve. Strong teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate well, work supportively with colleagues, focus on delivering a quality service, and treat others with respect and dignity.
You will also enjoy being part of a close-knit, sociable team, with all the support and training needed to further your skills. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
