We're a fast-paced, dynamic, and commercially successful machining company.
We want a Process Engineering Manager with machining experience.
We are now fully IATF 16949 accredited and supply the automotive, off-highway, heavy-truck, rail, and yellow goods markets.
We seek someone who understands Process Control and can develop process control charts and documentation to demonstrate our processes are capable.
We have had a steady upward trajectory through our engineering excellence and exceptional customer service.
We want someone with the ambition to grow into Engineering Manager and then Director following existing retirement plans.
We are one of the largest companies in sub-contract machining in the UK.
We have only grown through the skill and hard work of our team members; we are now succession planning and need someone whose skills and values match ours.
Working between a number of foundries and a range of global customers across demanding, highly complex, high variety, high precision, and medium volume operations, we have to be better than good as these are all competing demands.
Having gained IATF accreditation, we initially need you to prove out and document the existing operations to close the approvals loop, then absorb and enhance our existing New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
As time and your ability progress, you'll be responsible for all NPI, tooling, managing the team, and the goal is for you to become Engineering Director with the possibility of equity.
You will have a sound grasp of machining and understand why process capability is critical.
Working with both the lead in Quality and the Quality systems manager, you will ensure all new products are introduced correctly and with the right PPAP, control plans, etc. to meet customer demands and IATF levels.
This is an exciting business; sometimes you'll be flying by the seat of your pants, so this role is not for a steady, regimented engineer, but for someone who throws their heart and soul into just getting it done (right) by the end of the day.
Salary will probably be from £45,000 to £50,000, but a high potential star with a shorter track record and more risk, and therefore lower expectation, or an experienced leader who now wants to run his/her own team and is proven to be worth more, will equally be considered. Salary will not be a barrier to recruiting the best person for this role.
Your machining skills, ability to think on your feet, and drive hard to deliver a solution are critical.
