Job summary
We are seeking a fair, inclusive and transparent Head of Workforce Transformation and Organisational Development lead, who will drive forward strategies which impact positively on our staff, patients and the communities we serve.

You will work to the Associate Director of People Programmes, with professional accountability to the Group Chief People Officer.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Workforce Transformation and Organisational Development will work in the central function of the People Directorate, and the teams within your portfolio will serve the needs of our four hospital sites, community services and corporate teams.
Using a compassionate leadership approach, this role will ensure that your teams are proactive and influential in their contribution to the organisation's strategic and operational priorities, developing and empowering all members of the team to demonstrate professional excellence and standards.
You will be responsible for the delivery and development of the Organisation Development and Workforce Transformation portfolios, focusing on :
*Driving cultural change in line with the Trust's Cultural and Improvement agenda, bringing creative and ambitious strategies to improve retention by providing a sense of belonging and enabling continuing organisational improvement at UHB to be the best place to work.
*Take a transformative approach to organisational change to future proof services, through a creative, imaginative and practical approach to ensure organisational effectiveness.
As part of the wider People Directorate, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach on all elements of people strategy and will be required to deputise for the Associate Director of People Programmes on matters related to Workforce Transformation and OD work streams, and broader matters as required.

Qualifications
Essential
1. *Educated to Master's degree level in HR Management, or equivalent qualifications/experience in HR Management.
2. *CIPD level 7 qualification or equivalent
3. *Management qualification or relevant experience
4. *Evidence of continuing professional development
5. *Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent
Experience
Essential
6. *Experience of leading multiple teams and work streams.
7. *Significant experience in operational/service delivery Experience as a Senior HR Manager in a large, complex organisation
8. *Evidence of having led new initiatives with multidisciplinary teams
9. *Expertise in one defined strand of Workforce OD
10. *Political and cultural awareness
11. *Highly specialist Workforce OD knowledge gained by experience and/or further qualification to Masters level or equivalent
12. *Knowledge and understanding of the full range of HR and policy issues and best practice
13. *Highly specialised knowledge and understanding of Workforce operational issues in a large complex work environment

14. *Experience in Trade Union consultation/negotiation.
15. *Experience of the NHS strategic agenda together with an understanding of how this relates to Workforce OD policy and practice
