Our Citizenship Department plays a crucial role in equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values to engage as informed and active citizens in modern society.
The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Citizenship Teacher to join our vibrant team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to think critically, understand their rights and responsibilities, and develop a deep appreciation for democracy, law, and social justice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Citizenship lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
* Foster a classroom environment that encourages respect, curiosity, and active participation.
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing tailored support where needed.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Citizenship curriculum and extracurricular activities.
* Promote an inclusive approach, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or QTS) with experience teaching Citizenship or a related subject.
* Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting civic engagement and understanding.
* Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
* Be committed to ongoing professional development and contributing to the wider school community.
* Experience with PSHE or Humanities teaching is a plus.
