Job Title: Packaging Supervisor (12hr shifts rotating days and nights) Department: Packaging Direct Report(s): Carton Operator, Palletiser Co-ordinator, Multi-skilled Forklift Truck Driver, All Round Operator, Packaging Operator Reports to: Shift Manager Overall, Role Purpose The purpose of the role is to supervise the activities of the pack hall, ensuring that quality, safety and people objectives are met. Ensure that the SQKWR philosophy is maintained at all times. To protect the brand, maintain trust and deliver our legal obligation by ensuring customers food is sourced and manufactured to the food integrity requirements of each customer. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Supervise and develops the performance of the pack hall team in order to achieve objectives. Make key decisions about quality, people and safety, escalating issues to the shift manager when necessary, including the integrity of products at all times. Accountable for the result of the packaging team for a shift. Maintain the cleanliness of own working area. Monitor short interval control metrics and ensures that any deviations from target are corrected. Lead or participates in improvement projects as requested of them. Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift. Ensure own work and own team’s work is compliant with relevant legal, health and safety, environmental and human resources policies, procedures, objectives and regulations. Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager. Conduct the hourly checks for KPI’s, run packing lines as efficiently as possible and report any outstanding issues to shift manager. Make sure that all packaging materials are accounted for, and we have enough for current and next production runs. Be able to communicate with other departments. Good communication and organisational skills. Conduct daily meetings discuss all engineering and production issues with the meeting attendees. Conducting investigations, disciplinaries, deputising for the shift manager Be able to organise and run a repack line and rework orders achieving the targeted minimum tonnage. Job Skills, Qualifications & Experience Management/ Leadership Skills Required Supervisory skills; responsible for coordinating daily activities of team, conducting employee performance reviews, training team members, conducting disciplinaries up to and including written warnings. Qualifications Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent). Lamb Weston chemical training, HS, GMP and food safety desirable Further/higher education/degree desirable Supervisory training desirable. PPT Experience 2-3 years’ food manufacturing experience 2 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment SAP/SCADA/Free weigh experience.
