We’ve been involved in projects as interesting and diverse as the Forth Bridges, Thames Tideway, Canary Wharf, British Museum, Palace of Westminster, HS2 and the Smithsonian Museum.
We are seeking a Manager to lead and develop our well-established Construction Materials Department, based at our laboratories in Clapham, London. This is a high level position reporting directly to the Managing Partner for the firm.
You will be an expert in construction materials testing, with significant previous experience of similar activities and an extensive knowledge of concrete. Report writing skills and a practical nature are essential, as is the ability to handle many live projects at once. Strong English language skills are important, both written and verbal.
Key to this role will be the ability to manage and lead the six staff in the department. The role involves advising on and overseeing the testing of various construction materials including concretes, aggregates, renders, mortars, stone, brick, screeds and flooring materials (including slip resistance testing). The department undertakes testing both on site, in the lab and additionally taking samples for later testing.
