We are Rolls-Royce SMR and we’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.
We are now recruiting for the exciting role of HS&E Design & Construction Safety Lead.
An overarching strategic objective of Rolls-Royce SMR is to integrate robust conventional health and safety policies, standards, processes and good practices, within engineering activities and product design definitions.
The HS&E Design & Construction Safety Lead will lead the development and implementation of the organisation's strategic approach, interpretation, and holistic arrangements in relation to Health and Safety in the Design and Construction Phases.
They will be responsible for implementing and leading a programme with the intent to deliver a safe design solution that reduces conventional safety risks to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
Critically, this role requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, necessary to elicit, understand, prioritise, and deliver complex demands. The candidate should have the ability to apply strategic thinking about our integrated health and safety approach, and effective application of UK legislation and use of good practices, to assure Rolls-Royce SMR delivers a repeatable and safe plant design.
Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. If you feel you meet 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you.
