TL;DR: CUR8 is looking for an exceptional Carbon Procurement Manager to join our growing Operations team. CUR8’s customers already include some of the most notable carbon removal buyers globally - British Airways, Coca Cola HBC, Standard Chartered Bank - and you’ll be empowered to use your networks, initiative, and commercial acumen to win more. We’re looking for a strategic and proactive problem solver, driven by delivering results for clients. You’ll have a track record of successfully managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships, ideally within the carbon removal, or environmental commodities sectors. You will report to our Chief Operations Officer, and work closely with our Science and Sales teams across all our key accounts. This is a hybrid role, working from home but also from our Old Street office (typically 3 days in the office per week). About CUR8: The science is clear. Humanity needs to remove CO2 from the atmosphere at gargantuan scale. And our window is closing. Even if we do everything else right on reducing emissions, the world needs to remove 5-10 Gigatonnes of carbon from the atmosphere every year by the year 2050. There simply is no Net Zero without carbon removals. At CUR8, we’re driven by making the worldwide market for Carbon Removals. We’re on a mission to facilitate 1Bn tonnes of carbon removed in a single year. We’re the leading science, procurement, and management platform for carbon removal. Combining technology with financial and scientific expertise to help companies to find, buy, manage, and finance carbon removal. In the last year we’ve had some big successes including designing, facilitating, and now managing the UK’s largest single purchase of durable carbon removal. Now we’re growing our team in a number of core areas to keep up with our demand. We’re systemic thinkers. Together with our sister NGO, Rethinking Removals, we collaborate with the entire carbon removals ecosystem, across suppliers, buyers, policymakers, and narrative setters, to develop and invest in future projects to make sure there are enough carbon removals in 1, 5, 10 and 25 years time. About the role: We’re hiring a Carbon Procurement Manager to join our Operation team to help us deliver high-impact carbon removal portfolios and carbon management software to our customers. We’re growing quickly and developing a high-performance, low-ego team to deliver some of the most impactful corporate investments into climate solutions this decade. You’ll be working out how to support the largest and most ambitious organisations globally to remove carbon from the atmosphere at scale, with a mandate to be creative to drive both clear business value and impact for the climate. To do this you will work side-by-side with our Carbon Operations Manager and COO, as well as Product and Science teams, partners and advisors. In this role, you will: Own and manage relationships with carbon removal suppliers to ensure steady and scalable prioritisation of high-quality carbon removal solutions. Lead negotiations and contracting processes to secure the best possible commercial and impact-driven outcomes, with both existing suppliers and new projects. Collaborate with the Sales and Science teams to design compelling, high-integrity carbon removal portfolios for enterprise customers, across a full spectrum of nature-based and engineered removals. Monitor and assess supplier performance, quality, and risk to ensure our customers receive the most effective and durable carbon removal solutions. Own or contribute to the development of supply-side strategies that align with CUR8’s mission and business growth. Help to deliver added value for suppliers beyond purchases, so we stay focused on building the industry. You will also act across our wider sales and company operations, to: Support the Sales team by providing supplier insights and expertise to shape high-value deals. Join client meetings as a subject matter expert. Improve processes by identifying efficiencies, streamlining operations, and leveraging technology. Stay informed about industry trends, policies, and innovations to keep CUR8 at the forefront of the carbon removal market. Contribute to an effective, fun, impact-driven culture, where everyone has an opportunity to lead. Requirements Please treat the below as a starting point. If you don’t exactly meet all of the below points but think you’d be really impactful in our team, we want to hear from you. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, including demonstration of leading or supporting successful B2B sales processes. You have an understanding of key climate change and corporate sustainability frameworks. Experience in carbon markets is valuable if not essential, but either way you will know where to go to find the right answers. You have exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex or technical content in a concise and accessible way. You have experience or interest working alongside product teams to support the development of leading software tools. You love getting your hands dirty and thrive in dynamic environments, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring high-quality execution. You are passionate about impact and startups - a proactive self-starter who is comfortable dealing with a degree of ambiguity. Please note that this role requires the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to sponsor visa applications at this time. Benefits About the perks: CUR8 is an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. With a little bit of luck, we’ll save the planet. But seriously - every time we transact, the world gets a little better. We’ll treat you with dignity; across competitive compensation, meaningful equity, generous time off, and a culture that’s inclusive for parents and respectful of boundaries (no late night emails). We have our own bright lovely office in Old Street - which you will get to shape alongside us. Time and money to learn: every member of the team receives a £1,000 personal development budget to spend on up-skilling themselves and supporting the team. We offer 4 weeks per year to work from anywhere in the world. A great pension - we contribute 6% (salary sacrifice). About our process: Our process aims to give all of us the chance to get to know each other, our aspirations, and whether this is an exciting fit. It starts with an initial chat to tell you more about CUR8, what we’re looking for, and understand more about your goals. Next is a skills focused interview, which leads to an ideally in person final stage split over two parts: a culture fit discussion with the team and a 1:1 founder meeting.
