Job Description Job Opportunity: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Full-Time & Part-Time) Location : Lanark, Scotland Salary : Up to £65,000 Hours: Full or Part Time Our state-of-the-art flagship practice is located in the Royal Burgh of Lanark, a bustling market town nestled in the picturesque lower Clyde Valley. Additionally, we have been recognized as a 2-star ‘Best Companies’ organization. We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our expanding practice. This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis. Our varied caseload and robust support structure ensure that we can accommodate veterinary professionals at all stages of their careers. About the Role: Our practice is known for its supportive environment, with colleagues who are always ready to help. We are well-equipped with modern technology, including laser therapy, video endoscopy, ultrasound, and digital x-ray facilities. Consultations are scheduled for 15 minutes each to allow thorough care for every patient. Full-time vets will work a 5-day week, while part-time hours are flexible to suit your needs. The practice offers 24/7 nursing cover, and on-call duties are required once every 11 weeks. While on-call, you must be comfortable working solo and demonstrate a proactive and friendly attitude. However, there is always a support structure in place for less experienced colleagues during on-call shifts. We offer a CPD allowance of £1,750, with 5 days of paid CPD leave, and more if you are pursuing a certificate. Additionally, your RCVS & VDS fees will be covered, along with membership to one other society of your choice, such as BSAVA. You will be joining an experienced team of 14 vets, each with varied and specialized interests. Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into our large and friendly team. You should be enthusiastic about mentoring colleagues, engaging in clinical discussions, managing a wide variety of cases, and taking on challenges with a positive attitude. Our services include laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, and dental X-ray. You should have substantial experience in practice and be comfortable with a range of surgical procedures. Being on-call is part of the role, and you will be expected to participate in the rota.
