Legal Recruitment Consultant (Candidate Focussed)
About Us
We are an award nominated start-up legal recruitment agency with purpose. We are driven by a triple bottom line, and we care about People and the Planet as well as Profit.
We work with a range of clients from top tier US firms to mid-sized city firms, as well as with in-house companies including green energy providers and tech companies. We partner with them to source the best paralegals, lawyers and compliance professionals in the market.
The Team
The team is led by an award winning recruiter who has 18 years legal recruitment experience. The other team members include a former corporate lawyer from a top US firm and experienced recruiters who have both agency and in-house experience.
We take our work seriously, but we have fun doing so - enjoying terrible cheesy jokes and also cheese jokes will mean you will fit in well! You will be an integral team member and we are all friendly and supportive and work collaboratively as a team.
The Role
The role will be varied and challenging, requiring you to think creatively and to problem solve.
Typical duties include:
* Research into the firm and the role and drafting a comprehensive job advert using the Lunaria Standard which includes ensuring inclusive and gender neutral language
* Analysing which job boards are relevant for the advert to be placed on and posting it ensuring you are using the correct coding and key words to be found by the right candidates
* Identifying potential candidates on LinkedIn
* Creating and designing social media / LinkedIn posts
* Reviewing applications and conducting 1st stage telephone interviews to assess for their suitability
* Editing the CV into our format and proof reading to ensure there are no mistakes
* Managing the candidates profile on the database ensuring it is up to date and compliant
With time the role will progress and you can look forward to taking on more responsibility including advising on the content of their CV, conducting mock interviews, assisting with preparing shortlists, taking feedback post interviews, drafting candidate summaries and making offers!
If you wish you will also get the chance to be involved in organising client and candidate events, and assisting with research for salary surveys, designing marketing materials and with general legal, compliance and HR matters.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a real interest in recruitment, who loves meeting people and is inquisitive about what makes them tick, and who builds rapport quickly. Any customer service experience would be a real benefit.
It is a fast paced and pressured role so you will be the type of person who thrives in this kind of environment. As the role is so fast paced, you will also need to have excellent organisational and time management skills. And exceptional attention to detail is essential, as one small mistake could cost the candidate their dream role.
An LLB law degree (or GDL / LPC) would be an advantage as the roles are technical and this prior knowledge will be useful, however we will consider any graduate who can demonstrate the ability to pick things up quickly and who will go over and above to learn quickly.
Prospects for Progression
There are a few routes for this candidate to progress into internally. As we are a growing business there is very much the chance to develop into a full consultant developing relationships with clients, or an account manager role, or to lead a team of resourcers. We reward talent quickly, and your contribution to the team will be recognised in a timely fashion.
The role will also be a great step for other career paths too. In the past people in this role have gone on to secure in-house recruitment roles at law firms, and we have had two people go on to secure training contracts at top international firms. The commercial awareness and general office, business and interpersonal skills will set you in very good stead.
Lunaria Partners are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
