Waiting List Coordinator
I am currently recruiting for experienced Administrator / Coordinator with previous NHS, GP surgery and Medical admin experience who is available to start a temporary role immediately.

Pay Rates: Up to £17 per hour Umbrella or £14 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Managing Patient Appointments and Schedules:
* Coordinating and maintaining accurate waiting lists for outpatient clinics, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures.
* Booking, rescheduling, and prioritising appointments based on clinical urgency and NHS targets, such as the 18-week Referral to Treatment (RTT) standard.
Liaising with Clinical and Administrative Staff:
* Working closely with consultants, nurses, and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow and maximise available capacity.
* Communicating with patients regarding appointment changes, cancellations, and updates related to their treatment pathway.
Booking and Referral Management:
* Processing referrals and ensuring patients are booked into appropriate clinics or procedures within required timeframes.
* Managing patient queries regarding appointment availability, waiting times, and alternative options when necessary.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
* Updating and maintaining electronic patient records using NHS systems, such as PAS, e-RS, and other hospital databases.
* Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with NHS guidelines and information governance regulations.
Monitoring and Reporting Waiting Times:
* Tracking and reporting on waiting list performance against national and local targets.
* Identifying potential breaches and escalating issues to senior management to support timely interventions.
Ensuring Compliance with NHS Policies and Guidelines:
* Adhering to NHS policies, such as the 18-week RTT pathway and other access targets.
* Ensuring patient pathways are managed in line with clinical priorities and operational standards.
