Williams Advanced Engineering offers a 13-month Industrial Placement (August 2023 - September 2024) within our Performance Simulation team. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, focusing on innovative simulation projects to support our mission of advancing electric and sustainable vehicle technologies.
To qualify, candidates should be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering or similar, with strong Matlab skills and experience in Simulink modeling. Knowledge of electric powertrains, battery systems, vehicle dynamics, and familiarity with source control systems are advantageous. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
During the placement, responsibilities include:
* Conducting simulations across various engineering sectors such as off-highway, automotive, and rail.
* Setting up and developing performance simulations including drive-cycle and dynamic lap simulations, and co-simulation using Simulink.
* Supporting data creation, analysis, and reporting.
* Presenting and discussing analysis results.
