We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious Real Estate Legal Counsel to play a pivotal part in our Legal team and the Asset Management team. You’ll be based at our office in one of our UK offices and will sit with the multidisciplinary Mileway team headed by our Managing Director UK and you will be part of the broader Legal team which consists of a team based in UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Spain.
What you’ll do
1. Assist the team and the broader Mileway teams with legal queries as part of the day-to-day business.
2. Manage a team and provide training on real estate transaction documents.
3. Work on lease agreements, amendment agreements, settlement agreements and further ancillary leasing documents (including templates).
4. Participate in legal negotiations with tenants on lease documentation and liaising with external law firms on leasing matters.
5. Advise the Mileway team and liaise with external law firms on litigation matters.
6. Assist the Mileway team on certain legal aspects of disposals and acquisitions (such as the review of NDAs, LOIs, assistance with the preparation of the VDR and Q&A).
7. Manage Mileway’s exposure with local public authorities.
8. Maintain and update Mileway’s legal reporting (such as the litigation tracker and other trackers requiring legal input).
What you’ll bring
1. A university law degree.
2. At least ten years of experience working in-house or at a law firm on real estate matters.
3. Experience in leading a team and training juniors.
4. You’re a proactive, hands-on person. You’re committed to continuous learning and improving your knowledge and skillset.
5. Total proficiency with MS Office standard applications.
6. Ability to work independently as well as demonstrate team spirit.
7. Able to take direction and ask questions.
8. Strong organizational skills and eye for detail.
