Underwriting Assistant

Brown & Brown are seeking a highly organised, ambitious and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our team specialising in US property risks. The successful candidate will have direct exposure to the underwriting process, providing essential support in the processing, analysis, and management of property insurance policies delivered via US and London based clients.
Day to day:
1. Assist in the preparation and issuance of formal quotes, binders, endorsements, and renewals. Ensure all documentation is accurate and in line with underwriting of the account.
2. Assist in the review and analysis of US property risks, including property values, loss history, building information and catastrophe exposures. Assist underwriters in gathering relevant documentation required for risk evaluation.
3. Input risk data into underwriting systems, ensuring all information is correct, complete, and up to date. Maintain organised records for each account as required.
4. Responsibility for reviewing property risk inspection reports, ensuring accuracy vs. the underwriting file and risk appetite. Engage with clients directly to resolve issues as required.
5. Communicate with TUWCO clients to gather necessary information, resolve queries, and support the underwriting process. Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients in the US & London.
6. Assist in the generation of underwriting reports, including performance tracking and exposure management.
7. Ensure all underwriting files are complete and accurate. Manage incoming correspondence, responding appropriately and escalating to Underwriters where required.
8. Provide ad-hoc support to Underwriters as required, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing presentation materials.

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred but not essential.
9. Previous experience in insurance, underwriting, or property risk analysis is preferred but not essential.
