We are looking to recruit twopart-time medical receptionists on a permanent basis to join the team atGlastonbury Surgery. The successful candidates will be comfortable interactingwith the public on the telephone and face to face with a professional andfriendly approach.
The busy working environmentand diverse role of a medical receptionist presents an opportunity for someonethat is eager to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
You will assist with thesmooth running of the practice and have a comprehensive induction with fulltraining for the role.
The working patterns are asfollows:
Vacancy 1: 16 hours
Tuesday: 8am - 1pm
Wednesday: 12noon - 5pm
Thursday: 12noon - 6pm
Vacancy 2: 16 hours
Tuesday: 1pm - 6pm
Thursday: 8am - 1pm
Friday: 12noon - 6pm

Main duties of the job
The role of medical receptionist is essential to the smooth running of Glastonbury Surgery. The role is varied, with face to face and telephone contact with patients and taking on administrative responsibilities that support the delivery of safe and effective care.

We are a stable, supportive and very friendly training practice that has retained its family and patient-first ethos. We work from purpose-built premises that has been recently extended, in a colourful market town offering semi-rural primary care.
The practice is very successful and has a good reputation amongst the GP community both externally and internally as evidenced by strong staff retention.
We care for a registered population size of 14,000 served by 11 GPs, GP Registrars, Nurse Practitioners and a paramedic, a team of Practice Nurses and HCAs, physiotherapists, administrative, secretarial and reception.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Reception desk - greet patients and respond to all enquiries
2. Appointment management - book patients and respond to requests for appointments from clinicians
3. Management of medical records
4. Preparation of consulting rooms
5. Operating the telephone system
6. Practice opening & closing procedure
7. Administration of forms and documentation
All responsibilities are shared across the team on a rota basis.
