6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT
ROLE OVERVIEW:
As the Automation Technician you will support the automation department, and wider technical teams, in ensuring all automated show elements are prepared and maintained in a safe and consistent manner, ensuring systems remain compliant with relevant statutory regulations and industry best practice. In addition, you will operate the automated show systems during performances, on rotation.
ABOUT YOU:
* A minimum of two years’ experience in large scale technical entertainment and/or experience in stage engineering and show control systems
* A desire to learn and develop new skills for both personal and professional development
* An understanding of control and maintenance of automated machinery that can cause harm to others if maintained and operated incorrectly
* Working knowledge of current and relevant Health and Safety practices
* Able to prioritize, multi-task, and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail, maintaining a positive attitude in fast-paced environments
* Comfortable working under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Take a calm and practical approach to technical troubleshooting
* Ability to work at height and to climb using fall arrest systems
* Confident working with hand and power tools
* Strong all-round technical theatre background
* Proficient with IT software including Microsoft office, especially Excel and Word
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
* Strong working knowledge of show automation systems including, but not limited to, console operation and programming, axis testing, drive repair etc
* Experience in stage management roles
* Rigging experience, including familiarity with fall protection systems
* Familiarity with and ability to interpret Technical Drawings e.g. AutoCAD
* First Aid at Work
* IPAF 3A, 3B and 1B certification
