An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People and OD Systems and Data Insights Partner to join the University’s People and Organisational Development (P&OD) Team.

About the role
Reporting to the People and OD Operations Manager, and working closely with the P&OD leadership team, acting in a leading capacity, your role will primarily focus on maintaining data quality and integrity, as well as collecting, analysing, and interpreting people-related data to identify trends, correlations, and patterns related to P&OD metrics and key performance indicators.
Additionally, you will identify and lead on opportunities to improve P&OD systems, processes, and initiatives that will support the P&OD function and its client base. This will include participating in P&OD projects related to data analytics, including People related system implementations, process improvements, and automation.
About you
With a proven track record of using data analysis and insight to inform decision making, you will have the ability to present data in an easily digestible format with dashboard functionality via appropriate tools e.g. using business intelligence and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. The successful candidate will be skilled in data analysis, modelling, visualisation, interpretation and synthesis, drawing on multiple sources to generate trends, patterns and insights.
You will have a comprehensive specialised knowledge of integrated HR/Payroll Systems and management reporting software, and a thorough conceptual understanding of relational databases.
Key to this role will be your ability to think strategically and to maintain sight of the big picture when considering priorities and delivering insight, as well as an ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
Job Purpose
The People & Organisational Development (P&OD) Systems & Data Insights Partner will play a vital role in supporting data-driven decision-making and providing valuable insights to the People & Organisational Development (P&OD) function and its client base across the University. The primary areas of focus of the role will be on ensuring data quality and integrity, collecting, analysing, and interpreting people related data to identify trends, patterns, and identifying and leading on opportunities for improving P&OD systems, processes and initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Work with the P&OD leadership team, acting in a leading capacity, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive P&OD initiatives.
2. Build relationships and partner with key stakeholders to understand ongoing developments, decisions, and priorities as well as identifying where further support is required.
3. Use data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights related to P&OD metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
4. Conduct statistical analyses and predictive modelling to support P&OD initiatives and identify potential risks or improvement opportunities.
5. Participate in P&OD projects and initiatives related to data analytics, including People system implementations, process improvements, and automation.
6. Plan and lead the delivery of a schedule of required training and oversee the creation/maintenance of training guides, user manuals/system documentation and e-learning to improve P&OD's and the wider organisation's data literacy.
7. Responsibility for the completion of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, audits, and compliance.
8. Contribute to the formulation of policy to improve the quality and effectiveness of service provision, considering, where relevant, legislative changes.
9. Analysis and testing of new functionality from system supplier for all types of reporting in new/upgraded modules, optimizing P&OD systems and driving data accuracy, integrity and accessibility.

1. A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary professional knowledge and management skills in a similar or number of different specialist roles. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9,10 or 11 (Ordinary/Honours Degree, Post Graduate Qualification), or equivalent, with a broad range of professional experience in a management of data.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 8, £49,559 - £57,422 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended. Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
