Total Care Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker for a Temporary Accommodation Service in Dungannon. The service offers supported accommodation for individuals in need and is committed to empowering service users to manage their own lives. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team using holistic approaches to provide high levels of support and advice, while working to a housing-led, low-threshold, harm reduction approach. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service. Your role will involve providing practical assistance to service users, maintaining service user records, supporting key workers with personalized support plans, and contributing to the overall safety and wellbeing of the service. Key Responsibilities: Service User Focus: Be the first point of contact for service users, agencies, contractors, and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional, and welcoming environment. Support service users with practical needs, such as meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining their living spaces. Assist case workers in delivering tailored support plans and activities, helping service users meet their personal goals (financial, creative, educational, etc.). Maintain service user records and communicate effectively with colleagues. Health & Safety: Ensure that Health and Safety standards are adhered to, following organizational policies and procedures. Perform cleaning duties as directed and complete health and safety checks. Identify building defects and report them in accordance with health and safety standards. Administration & Record Keeping: Carry out project administration tasks, including the upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, and record-keeping. Team Contribution: Participate in handovers, team meetings, core training, and mentoring volunteers. Support colleagues in ensuring all decision-making aligns with organizational values. Demonstrate a professional and high-quality standard of work at all times. Please note that the above list is not exhaustive; flexibility is required to cover other roles as necessary. Key Requirements: Qualifications: 3 GCSEs (A-C), including Maths and English, or equivalent. NISCC Registration. Experience: 1 year of paid relevant work experience or 2 years of relevant volunteering experience. Skills: Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes. Good IT skills, with experience in using IT systems to record client information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to compile and present accurate reports. Knowledge: Understanding of homelessness and the factors that contribute to it. Knowledge of available support services in homeless services. Familiarity with statutory and voluntary sector resources for individuals experiencing homelessness. Awareness of the importance of health and safety standards in service delivery. Knowledge of relevant agencies and the ability to network and liaise effectively. Circumstances: Ability to work a flexible rota, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and night shifts (including sleep-in shifts).
