Role Overview:
As a Management Accountant at Select Care Group Management Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial transactions while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. This role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of both management accounting and transactional finance, with a focus on maintaining financial control and improving process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transaction Management: Oversee the full transactional cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end processes.
* Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of management accounts, reports, and financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Cost Management: Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis to support financial control and improve organisational performance.
* Reconciliation: Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting systems and processes, driving efficiency and automation where possible.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and strategic advice to improve business operations.
* Audit Support: Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and analysis.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Accounting Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification (or currently pursuing).
* Proven Experience: At least [X] years of experience in management accounting, with a strong focus on financial transactions and processes.
* Transactional Expertise: Hands-on experience in managing accounts payable/receivable, journals, and reconciliations.
* Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel, with experience in using financial systems (e.g., ERP systems).
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial data handling and reporting.
* Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
* Problem-Solving: Proven track record of identifying and resolving discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial processes.
