SUMMARY
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager- Siding is responsible for managing and developing a team of outside sales specialists, inside sales specialists, and estimators focusing strictly on siding products. The focus is based on developing a short- and long-term strategic plan for our extensive Siding business. Targeting residential and commercial siding opportunities, this role is responsible for developing sales programs for selected products. These programs will support the sales team when promoting products to architects, specifiers, developers, contractors, engineers, designers, and building owners. As the primary liaison with Vendor Representatives, you will foster partnerships to achieve pricing and quality of service objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
* Support the identification and growth of relationships with architects, specifiers, developers/contractors, engineers, designers, and building owners to develop strategic partnerships positioning Doman’s products as the primary choice for building projects.
* Maintain high visibility with key accounts and suppliers, fostering strong strategic relationships.
* Manage sales reporting including overall sales revenue, gross margin, and forecast and pipeline opportunities.
* Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for the region and ensure attainment of company sales goals, profitability in the product lines, and increased market share.
People Management
* Coach and manage Outside Sales Specialists to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
* Coach and manage Inside Sales Specialists to deliver excellent customer service by processing custom siding orders accurately, ordering siding inventory precisely, and producing take-offs and quotes correctly.
* Coach and manage Estimators to prepare accurate take-off estimates and quotes of exterior siding projects.
* Promote effective use of the CRM by Outside Sales Specialists.
* Ensure good call planning habits are established and utilization of professional consultative selling skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Sales
* Demonstrated ability to develop strong business relationships with major accounts, specifiers, architects, building owners, developers/contractors, installers, municipalities, and designers.
* Strong business acumen, able to assess local market conditions and respond appropriately.
* Previous experience developing sales programs that generate business opportunities.
* Working experience with the disciplines of call management.
* Very good understanding and execution of the sales cycle.
* Ability to analyze data with a commercial mindset to better understand trends and consumer needs.
People Management
* Effective people management and coaching skills.
* Strong relationship builder – able to establish both internal and external working relationships in order to identify and implement strategies for business growth.
Other
* Building industry or trade experience is preferred, especially siding products.
* High level understanding of construction, blueprints, and building methods is an asset.
* A high degree of self-discipline with good time management and organizational abilities.
* Demonstrated proficiencies with MS Office, CRM and ERP systems.
* Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record. Maintaining a clean driving record is a condition of employment.
* Ability to travel within Ontario. Requirement for minimum office presence of 2 to 3 days per week.
Education
* Post-secondary education in business or building industry.
* Formal sales training is required.
* Certified Sales Professionals (CSP) designation is desirable.

Travel: weekly travel up to 40% - 60% of the time driving within Ontario, with occasional overnight stays.
