Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join a Autism (Children) department in Hampshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, working alongside a team of clinical psychologists and other healthcare professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a specialised area of psychology and contribute to meaningful, life-changing interventions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting qualified psychologists in the assessment, planning, and implementation of therapeutic interventions for children with ASD.
* Supporting the administration and scoring of standardised psychological assessments.
* Working directly with children, helping to develop and deliver tailored interventions under supervision.
* Providing psycho education and emotional support to families and caregivers.
* Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings, contributing to case discussions and care planning.
* Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records in line with service policies and procedures.
* Conducting literature reviews and research under the guidance of senior psychologists, contributing to evidence-based practice within the department.
* Assisting in the preparation and delivery of workshops or group programs for children and families.
* Participating in supervision, training, and continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
Requirements:
* A degree in Psychology.
* Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or clinical setting.
* Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and relevant therapeutic interventions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children and families.
* High level of empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
