Description Salary £25,183 - £27,269 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Whalley Depot International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Location Whalley Depot BB7 9RW (but may be required to work at various locations throughout Lancashire About the role Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2955 bridges. We have an exciting opportunity for two Highways Operative – Skilled required to support the delivery of Highways schemes which are often complex in nature, politically sensitive and high profile. This will be an opportunity to support the maintenance and enhancement of the highway network and provide long term benefits for residents, visitors and businesses in Lancashire. Whilst this role will primarily focus on delivering the Authority's countywide projects programme of works, the post holder may be required to work on all aspects of highway's schemes as directed. We are looking for someone with experience in highway construction, such as, kerbing, laying tarmac, flagging, drainage and ducting etc. In both maintenance related activities and new installations. As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an awareness of Health and Safety Legislation pertaining to highways maintenance and traffic management.
