Senior Risk IT Project Manager 6 month initial contract (multiple extensions) £850 per day via umbrella (negotiable for the right candidate) London based, 2x a week in the office Must be based and eligible to work in the UK Profile Summary Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage cross-functional project teams to deliver complex IT solutions within the Risk domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Oversee end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication, ensuring on-time and within-budget results. Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Risk Management, IT, and other business units to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria. Utilize hands-on IT expertise to guide technical teams in developing, testing, and implementing software and infrastructure solutions for risk management. Ensure data governance, integrity, and security by applying industry best practices and regulatory standards, particularly in relation to risk data management. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues and meet deliverables. Foster strong relationships with vendors and external partners, ensuring smooth collaboration and delivery of third-party solutions where applicable. Mentor and guide junior project managers and technical teams, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer within the team to enhance overall project execution. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Proven experience in leading and managing projects within the financial services industry, particularly in the Risk IT domain, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices. Solid experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or similar) and a demonstrated ability to manage Agile teams, sprints, and ceremonies effectively to deliver IT solutions on time and within scope. Strong analytical skills with a track record of performing business and technical analysis to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment between business needs and IT capabilities. Experience with risk management frameworks and tools, with a deep understanding of how data and IT solutions are applied to manage financial risks, compliance, and reporting. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and collaboration platforms, with a solid grasp of Agile project tracking and reporting techniques. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, including experience in managing cross-functional teams of developers, analysts, and other technical professionals. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa, ensuring clear understanding across all levels. Relevant qualifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is an advantage, with a preference for candidates with additional certifications in risk management, financial services, or data analytics.
