IT Support Apprentice – JDR Cables

A Typical Day in the Job:
* Providing 1st Line Support to resolve IT issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring smooth business operations.
* Assisting internal staff with IT support requests and ensuring issues are handled professionally and promptly.
* Taking ownership of support requests, following them through to resolution while maintaining high customer service standards.
* Logging all reported issues in the company’s bespoke Helpdesk Management System to keep users updated on progress.
* Collaborating with senior technical staff to resolve urgent issues efficiently.
* Learning about the company’s network, systems, and procedures to provide effective support to all teams.
* Working with the Helpdesk team to improve processes, escalate tasks, and adhere to SLAs.
* Conducting software and hardware updates, including configuring new starter setups, mail profiles, access rights, and upgrading components, routers, and switches.
* Assisting in the deployment and management of cloud-based solutions, gaining hands-on experience with cloud technologies.
* Supporting remote offices globally, including in the UK and the US, using tools like TeamViewer and Microsoft Teams.
* Contributing to creating and improving IT support procedures.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge:
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, email, and networking.
* Good understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and TCP/IP.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* The ability to work under pressure and approach problems methodically.
* Experience with wireless troubleshooting, Apple devices/iOS, or Android devices is a plus but not essential.
* Ideally, a full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle to travel between North East locations.
* A Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and a Grade 5/C in GCSE English is required for this role.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
* £15,579 to £21,673 per annum.
* Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
* 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
* Staff days out.
