Controls & Instrumentation Engineer We are seeking a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support the operation, maintenance and enhancement of automated systems at a key UK energy site. This role will involve working with cutting-edge control technologies, ensuring system reliability, and driving continuous improvements in a regulated, high-hazard environment. The responsibilities of the Control & Instrumentation Engineer include: Maintaining and upgrading process control and safety systems. Diagnosing and troubleshooting control system issues to maximise operational efficiency. Supporting capital projects by specifying and integrating new control solutions. Ensuring compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with engineering teams to optimise system performance and reliability. Providing technical leadership and guidance to maintenance teams. Requirements: Experience in control & instrumentation engineering within the energy, manufacturing, or process industries. Knowledge of industrial automation, SCADA, PLCs, and functional safety standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. Familiarity with hazardous area compliance and process safety regulations. Relevant qualifications in electrical, control, or instrumentation engineering (HNC or higher preferred).
