Job Description Technical Integration Lead – Services - Submarines Derby Full time An exciting opportunity currently exist for an Engineer to join our Department based within the Services Delivery Business Unit (DBU) in Submarines Derby. This is a key role managing technical work packages as part of the Submarine Programmes scope of nuclear safety case responsibility for Naval Reactor Plants. The role will be the prime engineering and technical programme contact between the Customer, Services Project Functions and DBUs. The candidate will be responsible for advising the technical content, strategy and delivery of agreed work packages for In-Service Submarines. Specifically, this role will involve being the technical lead for developing the implementation strategy for the alternative PC pH raiser project, as well as managing the through-life strategy for IXC resin. As a Technical Integration Lead you will be expected to represent the company at key meetings across the Submarines Enterprise and interface with the CE teams. This role provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the submarines enterprise, and influence and manage the progression of multiple major cross-functional technical programmes. What you will be doing: You will be responsible for ensuring timely and quality delivery of Engineering programmes across the Submarines Business. Whilst not exhaustive, responsibilities for this role include the following: Provision of programme and technical guidance for the production, delivery, maintenance, assessment and approval of nuclear safety case documentation and supporting technical work packages. Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Acting as a DBU point of contact for technical matters with internal suppliers, external customers and other key stakeholders to fully understand current and ongoing needs in support of the UK Submarine programme. Working with project areas and DBUs to review and provide guidance on the programme strategy and to support planning and scoping tasks. Maintaining appropriate relationships with internal/external stakeholders, to ensure that nuclear safety case activities being undertaken are correctly focussed, integrated, efficient and effective. Promote continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programmes. Be of Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartered status. Be proactive, and work under minimal supervision within the customer environment. Possess good communication and customer management / relationship skills. Present at key customer forums; interfacing with chief engineers and senior representatives from MoD. A broad knowledge of submarines NSRP systems/engineering and a high-level understanding of the nuclear safety case and its technical dependencies is beneficial for this role, but not essential.
