A unique opportunity to work at one of the UK’s busiest wildlife hospitals. Join our friendly and dedicated team operating in an exciting and fast-paced environment, caring for British wildlife. The role includes the admission, triage, and treatment of injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife, with the primary purpose of returning them to the wild. Provide triage, first aid and care to new admissions. Perform basic surgeries and assist our vets with surgeries, monitoring anaesthetics during any such procedures. Administer medications to patients and assist with stock control of drugs and vet supplies. Assist in maintaining the treatment room and relevant equipment to a high standard of cleanliness and operational functionality. Assist with keeping protocols, training manuals and guides accurate and up to date. Assist with daily checks on all patients, helping to keep patients moving through the hospital. Assist with the ongoing training of other staff and volunteers. Additional duties may also include any and all other activities reasonably requested by your Employer related to your competencies and the needs of the Charity’s project(s). The role will also require occasional out-of-hours working (including evenings and weekends) to ensure that the needs of the patients are met. Qualifications RCVS Registered qualification in Veterinary Nursing Veterinary experience Laboratory experience Applicants for the Registered Veterinary Nurse position should possess core skills such as attention to detail, compassion for animals, and strong communication skills. Premium skills in veterinary and laboratory experience are highly valued. Relevant skills may include knowledge of animal behaviour, medical terminology, and familiarity with medical equipment.
